Kitchen Manager Jobs

A Kitchen Manager in the hospitality industry plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. They are responsible for overseeing daily back of house restaurant operations, which includes managing the kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and quality, developing menus, coordinating food orders, and maintaining kitchen equipment. They also ensure that the kitchen operations meet the establishment's standards and comply with health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Manager also liaises with front of house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Before becoming a Kitchen Manager, one could have worked in roles such as Line Cook, Sous Chef or even as a Chef De Partie. It's necessary for a Kitchen Manager to have excellent leadership and management skills, the ability to work under pressure, and good knowledge of food preparation and safety. They should also have a firm grasp of budgeting, inventory management, and scheduling. Certifications in food handling and safety, such as the ServSafe certification, are typically required. A degree in culinary arts, hospitality or a related field would be beneficial. Also, many years of culinary and management experience are usually required.
