BOH Manager Jobs
A Back of House (BOH) Manager in the hospitality industry is responsible for overseeing the operations of the kitchen or other behind-the-scenes areas, such as housekeeping or laundry, in hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, or other hospitality establishments. They play a crucial role in managing staff, ensuring food safety and hygiene, maintaining equipment, controlling inventory, and improving efficiency. They also liaise with the Front of House (FOH) Manager to ensure seamless service delivery. Their work largely contributes to the overall guest experience.
A BOH Manager should have excellent organizational and leadership skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the hospitality industry and its standards. They should have completed a culinary arts or hospitality management degree, and certifications in food safety and handling are beneficial. Prior to becoming a BOH Manager, an individual might have roles such as sous chef, kitchen supervisor, or head housekeeper. These positions provide the necessary experience in food preparation, staff management, and operational efficiency that are crucial for successful BOH management.
