A General Manager in the hospitality industry has overall responsibility for managing the operations of a hotel, resort, or similar establishment. They also play a pivotal role in strategic planning, sales and marketing efforts, budget management, and maintaining relationships with suppliers and partners.

They should also possess a good understanding of the hospitality industry, including guest service and operations. Certifications like Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) can add value.
