A General Manager in the hospitality industry has overall responsibility for managing the operations of a hotel, resort, or similar establishment. They also play a pivotal role in strategic planning, sales and marketing efforts, budget management, and maintaining relationships with suppliers and partners.
The ideal candidate should exhibit strong leadership qualities, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of business management principles. They should also possess a good understanding of the hospitality industry, including guest service and operations. Certifications like Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) can add value.
